We treat all information our customers disclose seriously!
Before we begin initial consultation with new customers and any sensitive information is exchanged, we always provide a signed NDA. Whether it is intellectual property related to patent/trademark, trade secrets, or internal company lists, information shared with us is kept safe and secure.
Digitally, all of our data is stored in secure Microsoft Servers through SharePoint Online, or Dropbox in simple scenarios.
Physically, each of our Windows 10/11 computers have three levels of I.T. security - BIOS Passwords to function, complex Microsoft passwords to sign-in, and BitLocker data encryption of all data drives.
MyJavelin.com is a data management and collaboration solution created internally by Javelin Mech, built on Microsoft SharePoint, which is same tool used by Fortune 500 companies to enable collaboration within their large teams.
We began building this solution in 2016 to create transparency with our customers, foster long-term relationships, and especially to facilitate secure exchange of large amounts of data.
MyJavelin enables our customers to follow project status and review Gantt charts, immediately access new files, export PDM data (Part Numbers and BOMs), submit Engineering Change Orders, review part revision changes and much more.
To access MyJavelin, our customers are required to sign-up for a free Microsoft account using their company email or use their existing one, if they already subscribe to Office 365.
For product design in 3D CAD, we use world-renown SolidWorks CAD software and maintain license subscriptions, so we can collaborate with our customers/vendors if they're using newest SolidWorks version.
For manufacturing workholding and fixture design, if our customer already has efficient CNC tool paths created for a component, we'll use either SolidWorks CAM, or Autodesk Fusion 360 CAM to verify CNC machining clearances of our customer's cutting tools before designing tooling in SolidWorks CAD.
For Engineering Simulation, we use SolidWorks Motion/Simulation for solving force and stress analysis studies and Salome SMESH to create advanced finite meshes. For suspension system design and analysis, we use software by Lotus Engineering (same as Lotus cars).
For 3D Scanning and Reverse Engineering, we use a combination of Einscan, Creality, CloudCompare, and SolidWorks ScanTo3D software to obtain scan data and process it into usable 3D models.
For Engineering Testing and data acquisition, we use a combination of instruments and software from Extech and Micro-Measurements.
For PLM/PDM (i.e., Product Life Cycle Managment/Product Data Management), including Bill of Materials, we use SolidWorks CAD to export BOMs to Microsoft Excel, and publish them to Microsoft SharePoint Lists within our MyJavelin Engineering Portal.
For Technical Documentation, we use a SolidWorks CAD to create Detailed Drawings for Manufacturing and all Technical Illustrations (i.e., utility patent drawings, exploded views, BOMs, etc.). For creating user operation manuals, we use a combination of SolidWorks CAD, Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. For creating Quality Management System documents, we use a combination of Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, and Word.
For Engineering Graphics, we use a combination of SolidWorks CAD to create 3D model configurations, SolidWorks Visualize for renderings, Blender for renderings that include organics (i.e., humans, landscapes), Adobe Photoshop for composites, Adobe After Effects for animations, and Microsoft PowerPoint to create sales/marketing brochures.
